HIGHTLIGHTS: 

In today’s society, high property prices, disparity between the rich and the poor, social tilt, alienation of interpersonal relationships, the lowest level of the food chain is enlarging…Part of people is suffering from poverty.

Those who cannot afford to rent a flat, everyday family or personal issues is taking place… You may find them hanging around parks, under highways and even 24 hours open local restaurant after midnight everywhere in Hong Kong, in Asia, in US, in the world… a small shelter to keep their little dignity. 

STORY:

Bowen (Starring Aaron KWOK) was a finance guru in his early 30s’ until he falls from grace when accused by embezzled public funds and sent to jail. Years later, his imprisonment expires and returns to the society. The more he feels guilty not to return home, the more self-absorbed. And living among those people who have no hope then him, to found some sense of security.

 

Jane (Starring Miriam YEUNG) is an energetic and hard-working woman, who performs in a local restaurant. She has faith in good day and difficulties are made to be overcome. Throughout those years, she kept her feelings from Bowen and waited one day he might recognize her. It was years before Bowen went to jail, Jane was performing in an event and met him the first time. She was attracted by his confidence. Since then, they never meet again until two years ago. She found him was helping those hopeless people around the neighborhood, and she decided to be next to him as their destiny.

 

Among those people who need help, there is Ma Ma (Starring Cya LIU) who was a teacher in China. Her fiancé died in an accident before they get officially married and she realized she was pregnant... Bravely, she decided to keep their baby. For the future of her child, she chose to come to Hong Kong for giving birth. Her fiancé’s mother indulged in gambles since her son’s dead and blamed them for all had happened and ever kicked them out of home. Ma Ma tried hard to find ways for paying back her debt. They have no a penny left to rent a place for living and thus became refugee.

There is also Uncle Wait (Starring Alex Man), whose wife had been cheated all their saving and suicided. Uncle Wait never returned home after the tragedy. He wishes to find happiness in his memories from waiting for his wife to return to the restaurant where they used to go together.

With this group of people holding strong together with a little hope. Bowen noticed they are literally living in the 24hrs open local restaurant and having their own difficulties in life more than his.
